Treatment Inside a Medical Practice

Injectables are prescription medicines, and treatments like microneedling and IV therapy are medical procedures, wherever they are offered. What a medical setting adds is not a different product but everything around it.

Your health history and your medications are part of the conversation from the start. Someone is in a position to tell you when a concern is better addressed another way. And your aftercare is handled by a team that knows what it is looking at.

Nation's Best Aesthetics & Wellness is the sister practice of Nation's Best Family Health Care, and that connection is what shapes how treatment is approached here.

Starting With a Consultation

Most treatments begin with a consultation. You will be asked about your goals, your history will be reviewed, and you will be told what a realistic result looks like before you decide anything.

There is no obligation to be treated on the day.

Common questions

Anything not answered here is worth asking at your consultation.

How long does Botox last?
It varies between people and depends on the area treated and the dose used. Most people find they return for maintenance a few times a year. Your provider will give you a realistic expectation for your own treatment at your consultation rather than a number off a chart.
Will I look frozen?
Not if the dosing is right. A frozen look comes from over-treatment, and it is entirely avoidable. We would rather start conservatively and add a little at your follow-up than overshoot, which is why that two-week review appointment exists.
Does it hurt?
Most people find it very tolerable. The needle is extremely fine and each injection takes a second or two. As the page above notes, anesthesia is not required and most describe only mild discomfort.
Is there any downtime?
No. You can return to your day immediately. You will be asked to stay upright and skip strenuous exercise for the rest of the day, and there may be small red marks at the injection sites that settle within an hour or so.
How soon will I see a difference?
Not straight away. It takes several days to begin working and around two weeks to reach its full effect. If you are treating for an event, book at least two to three weeks ahead.
Can I have Botox if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. Treatment is not offered during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell your provider if either applies, or may apply, before treatment.

Terms you may hear

Neurotoxin
The category of injectable that temporarily relaxes a muscle by interrupting the nerve signal telling it to contract. Botox is one brand within it.
Dynamic lines
Lines that appear when you move your face — frowning, smiling, raising your brows. These are what neurotoxin treats.
Static lines
Lines visible when your face is completely at rest. These are etched into the skin and generally need more than neurotoxin alone.
Units
How neurotoxin dosing is measured. The number needed varies by area and by person, which is why treatment is quoted after an assessment rather than in advance.
Hyaluronic acid (HA)
A sugar molecule the body produces naturally, which binds water and gives skin suppleness. The basis of the JUVÉDERM range.
Hyaluronidase
The enzyme used to dissolve hyaluronic acid filler, making HA treatments reversible.
