Juvéderm® & Other Fillers in Panama City, FL
A family of hyaluronic acid fillers for facial lines, lip volume and age-related loss of fullness in the cheeks.
Filler replaces volume. That makes it a different tool from neurotoxin, and the two are often used together rather than instead of one another.

At a glance
- A range of formulations, matched to the area being treated
- Hyaluronic acid — a substance the body already produces
- Treats volume loss, not just lines
- Results are visible immediately, then settle over a two weeks
- Reversible, which very few aesthetic treatments are
About Juvéderm® and Other Fillers
Juvéderm is a hyaluronic acid (HA) based filler, which is meant to restore and refill naturally occurring HA to areas where it has been depleted.
The type of Juvéderm chosen will depend on the location and severity of the patient’s wrinkles, creases and volume loss.
JUVÉDERM® makes several products, all formulated with hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring sugar in our bodies that adds suppleness, hydration, and elasticity to the skin. These products include:
JUVÉDERM® XC

- Creates an overall smoother appearance
- Lasts up to 12 months
JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC

Why Volume Matters More Than Lines
Most people arrive asking about a line. Often the line is a symptom rather than the problem. Faces lose volume with age — fat pads descend and shrink, bone remodels, skin loses its scaffolding — and much of what reads as sagging or tiredness is that loss rather than the skin itself.
This is why treating the line directly does not always work. Filling a fold without addressing the lost support above it tends to produce a heavy, obvious result. Restoring a little volume where it has actually gone often softens the fold without anyone being able to say what was done.
Hyaluronic acid is well suited to this because the body already makes it. It binds water, which is part of why treated areas look hydrated rather than merely fuller, and it is broken down gradually by the body over months.
The property that matters most, though, is that it is reversible. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with an enzyme if a result is not what you wanted, or in the rare event of a complication. Very little in aesthetic medicine offers that, and it is a good reason to choose an HA filler for a first treatment.
What to Expect
Treatment starts with an assessment of your face at rest and in movement. Your provider will look at where volume has been lost rather than only at the line you have come in about, and will explain which product suits the area — the formulations differ in thickness and behaviour, which is why the list above is a range rather than a single product.
Filler is injected through a fine needle or a blunt-tipped cannula, depending on the area. Most JUVÉDERM formulations contain lidocaine, and numbing cream can be applied beforehand. Lips are the most sensitive area and are usually numbed.
You will see a change immediately, but it is not the final result. Swelling is normal for the first few days, particularly in the lips, and the filler settles and integrates over about two weeks. Judge the outcome at two weeks, not at two days.
Bruising is common and can last several days, so do not book filler immediately before an important event. You will be given aftercare guidance before you leave, and asked to report anything unusual — blanching, escalating pain, or changes in vision — immediately rather than waiting.
Common questions
Anything not answered here is worth asking at your consultation.
How long does filler last?
Does it hurt?
Can it be undone?
Will people be able to tell?
How long is the recovery?
Can I have filler and Botox at the same appointment?
Terms you may hear
- Hyaluronic acid (HA)
- A sugar molecule the body produces naturally, which binds water and gives skin suppleness. The basis of the JUVÉDERM range.
- Hyaluronidase
- The enzyme used to dissolve hyaluronic acid filler, making HA treatments reversible.
- Cannula
- A blunt-tipped instrument used instead of a needle in some areas. It moves through tissue rather than piercing it, which can reduce bruising.
- Midface volume loss
- The age-related flattening of the cheek area. Treating it is what VOLUMA is formulated for.
